I'm not a very computer-savvy person. Is your software complicated?
We provide you with an easy-to-use, graphical interface for your convenience.
Using the software is as simple as clicking on an icon, typing in your login, and clicking the 'Connect' button.
Well that's all well and good, but what about installing it?
Much the same, installation is a breeze. You simply download the program and run it once. It takes care of the rest for you.
What sort of things can I use with TrueOnlineSecurity?
TOS is great for just about anything. Here are just a few examples of what sorts of activity can be secured, protected and encrypted with our service:
Will my programs work with TrueOnlineSecurity?
Our system is compatible with virtually all software. If it works through your normal Internet connection (or not!), odds are it will work through ours.
Once you're connected, all of your online activity will automatically shift to our tunnel, gaining the protection of our powerful encryption at the same time.
Will my connection alyways be protected?
Yes, but only as long as you connect via our software. Once connected, you will have every benefit of our service.
Do you log any of my activities or record where I have been?
Certainly not. We keep no records of your online activities in any shape or form.
All temporary logs regarding the health of your connection are deleted as soon as you disconnect.
You say that the messages I send (via email or IM) with your service will be 'encrypted'. Will the people I'm sending them to need your service to view these messages?
Not at all. They won't need our service to read it; although we'd certainly love to have them as our customers!
The TrueOnlineSecurity service acts as a shield around your online activities, helping you to retain your privacy and anonymity. When your online traffic reaches its destination, it will appear as ordinary as any other.
I am having a problem connecting to the Internet, what should I do?

Our customer support staff has extensive experience with many networking technologies. We will do our best to troubleshoot any issues that come up, even if they are not related to your TrueOnlineSecurity service.
Is it possible for my Internet Provider to block me from using TOS's service?
While our system currently operates on port 443 (HTTPS), we rely on the fact that it is highly unlikely that any ISP would ever block this port. This is the same port that all secure web activity uses. A well-known example of this is PayPal. PayPal uses HTTPS for all of its secure transactions, as do most sites that handle personal information.
An easy test to make sure you can use port 443 is to navigate to PayPal's secure website.
I have tried other services that have limited my bandwidth, is this something you do?
TrueOnlineSecurity will never attempt to govern your bandwidth, or charge you for over-usage. We want our service to enhance your Internet experience, rather than limit it; our goal to have happy customers.
Our clients have told us they are able to stay logged on for weeks at a time, and have reached speeds of 10 megabits per second or higher, uploading and downloading simultaneously.
What will my Internet Service Provider see while I am connected through Trueonlinesecurity?
Your ISP will see a long stream of secure (HTTPS), encrypted traffic similar to a connection to an online banking service.
They will not be able to track your actual activity. That is to say, they won't be able to see what you're doing or where you're going.
Is there anything else I can do to increase my privacy while on your service?
We suggest you clear your browser's history of sites visited and cookies obtained frequently, ensuring your privacy and anonymity.
While connected, all of your ports will be 'wide open'. A firewall on your router will not be effective against potential intrusions. We can protect your activity, but we can't protect your computer. It's important to have a personal firewall running (like the one that comes standard with Windows XP or higher) while connected to TOS.
Why did you choose to build your business around OpenVPN?
We chose to offer exclusively OpenVPN due to the quality of it's design and implementation, the high level of encryption and the open source technology. OpenVPN uses 2048bit public-private key cryptographic algorithms in conjunction with 256-bit session keys which change every 20 minutes, which are both significantly tighter than the 128bit options commonly available. Further, since the code is open source, there have been thousands of eyes sifting through the code for comment and criticism. This shows us that the product has no 'backdoor' to allow someone to see what you are doing. The 128bit alternative uses proprietary code that is not open for inspection or comment, leaving the user wondering.
Currently we use a beta version of OpenVPN (2.1) in order to take advantage of certain IP assignment features that can't be achieved with version 2.0.
Do you own your servers or do you just buy space on someone else's?
Trueonlinesecurity owns and manages its own servers, guaranteeing its customer's security and anonymity. Housing these servers in the Netherlands assures customers privacy due to the host Country's laws (namely those pertaining to logging of user information).
What should I do if I lose my user id or password?
Please contact us immediately! We can provide your username and password and change it for you if necessary once we have confirmed that you are, in fact, you.
